Privacy Policy

Wayfolio is operated by Patchy Home Services Inc. (“Patchy Home Services”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a company incorporated in Canada. Patchy Home Services Inc. is the controller responsible for information processed through the Wayfolio app and website.

This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions can be sent to info@patchy.ca.

What we collect depends on how you use Wayfolio.

• Account information: your name and email address from Sign in with Apple or Google, your user ID, and profile details you choose to add. If you use Apple's private relay email, we receive the relay address rather than your personal one.
• Place and list content: places you save, list names, notes, links, ratings, categories, addresses, photos you add, and the people you invite to shared lists.
• Precise location: only if you grant location permission, and only to show your position on the map, find places near you, and sort nearby results. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
• Photos and screenshots: images you choose to import so we can extract place details from them. We access only the images you select; we do not scan your photo library.
• Links and text you import: URLs, shared posts, and notes you paste or share into Wayfolio for place extraction.
• Purchase information: subscription status, plan, purchase and renewal events, and the entitlement linked to your account. Payment card details are handled by Apple and never reach us.
• Usage and device information: features used, screens viewed, app version, device type, operating system, language, and diagnostic or crash data.
• Waitlist information: your email address and the time you submitted it, if you sign up on our website.

We use information to provide, secure, and improve Wayfolio.

• To create and maintain your account and authenticate sign-in.
• To save, organize, map, search, and share the places and lists you add.
• To run location-based features such as nearby search and map positioning.
• To extract place details from links, notes, and screenshots you submit.
• To manage subscriptions, entitlements, usage limits, and paywalls.
• To measure product usage, fix bugs, prevent abuse and fraud, and improve reliability.
• To send service messages, and waitlist or launch updates you asked for.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your information to perform our contract with you (providing the app and its features), on the basis of your consent (location access, photo access, and marketing email, each of which you can withdraw), for our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, and product improvement), and to comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share information with providers who process it on our behalf, under contract and only for the purposes below.

• Supabase — hosting, database, authentication, and storage of your account and place data.
• Apple and Google — sign-in, and for Apple, App Store purchases and subscription billing.
• Google Maps Platform and Places API — map rendering, place search, place details, and photos.
• OpenAI — processing of the text, links, and images you submit to AI-assisted search and import features. Your content is sent for processing to return a result.
• RevenueCat and Superwall — subscription state, entitlement management, and paywall delivery.
• Amplitude — product analytics on feature usage and app events.
• Loops — website waitlist emails.
• Vercel — website hosting and website analytics.

Beyond our service providers, information may be shared in these limited situations.

• With people you invite: members of a shared list can see the places, notes, and photos in that list, and the name of the member who added them.
• Publicly, if you choose to make a list public or share an invite link — anyone with the link can view what you have shared.
• For legal reasons: to comply with law, legal process, or an enforceable government request, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Wayfolio, our users, or the public.
• In a corporate transaction: if Patchy Home Services Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may transfer, subject to this policy.

Location access is optional and used only while you use location-based features such as current-location search, nearby categories, and map positioning. We do not track your location in the background and we do not build a location history from it.

You can change or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. Some features are limited without it.

The website may use cookies, local storage, and analytics to understand page usage and improve the site. For example, the waitlist form stores a timestamp in local storage to reduce duplicate submissions.

In the app we use an analytics identifier and event data rather than cookies. We do not use third-party advertising trackers and we do not run the App Tracking Transparency prompt because we do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

We keep account and place data for as long as your account is active. Analytics and diagnostic data are kept in aggregated or limited form for a shorter period.

When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain records for legal, tax, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.

Wayfolio keeps a shared catalogue of places — name, address, coordinates, category, and provider photo — that all users draw on. Deleting your account removes your saved collection, your notes, and the link between you and any catalogue entry you first created, but the de-identified catalogue entry itself remains so other people can keep finding that place. Spots you added to a list owned by someone else also stay in that list, without your name attached.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

To exercise any of these rights, or to delete your account and associated data, email info@patchy.ca. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

• Delete your account and data: email info@patchy.ca from the address linked to your account.
• Location and photo access: change permissions in your device settings.
• Marketing email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing message.
• Subscriptions: manage or cancel in your Apple ID Account Settings.

We operate from Canada and our providers may process information in Canada, the United States, and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses for transfers out of the EEA and UK.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level access rules on our database. No online service can guarantee perfect security.

Be careful when sharing invite links or making a list public, since anyone with the link can see its contents.

Wayfolio is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to Wayfolio, email info@patchy.ca and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy as Wayfolio changes. When we make material updates, we will update the date above or provide another reasonable notice.

Your continued use of Wayfolio after an update means the updated policy applies to your use of the service.
